The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) announced the Offshore Wind Power Planning Site Capacity Allocation Guidelines (Allocation Guidelines) (離岸風力發電規劃場址容量分配作業要 點) on 19 August 2021. The Allocation Guidelines outlines the regulations and rules for an applicant to apply for grid capacity from the Bureau of Energy (BOE) / MOEA. The timing for the MOEA to accept application for grid allocation is to be announced.

Taiwan's COVID-19 warning level has been at level 3 since 15 May 2021 (being placed at level 4 will result in a lockdown), meaning that most employees have been required to work from home, and all in-person classes at schools have been suspended. Recently, due to steadily decreasing COVID-19 case numbers, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that the epidemic warning level will be lowered from level 3 to level 2, from 27 July to 9 August 2021.
